Steve has been in the development and construction industry for over 20 years. After earning his MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Steve joined the U.S. Assets Group team to manage real estate sales and marketing at The Founders Club and to help manage existing and future projects for the firm. Steve helped conceive Heritage Builders and currently manages the day-to-day operations of the company and the community development operations at U.S. Assets Group. His hands on management approach and involvement with all phases of the home construction process has helped cement Heritage Builders' reputation as one of the most innovative and reputable home builders in Southwest Florida.
Tom Brown Principal
Tom founded U.S. Assets Group over 30 years ago and continues its tradition of excellence today with Heritage Builders. Prior to founding U.S. Assets Group, Tom earned a sterling track record with esteemed multi-national development companies. This success was continued as U.S. Assets Group went on to develop such noteworthy communities as Windsor (Vero Beach, Florida), Orchid Island (Vero Beach, Florida), en Provence (Longboat Key, Florida), Beau Ciel (Sarasota, Florida), Orchid Beach Club (Sarasota, Florida) and The Founders Club (Sarasota, Florida). In 2012, Tom joined partner Steve Brown in forming Heritage Builders to conceive and deliver high quality luxury homes at attainable prices.

Leif Schmidt Sales Manager
Leif has over a decade of experience in construction and sales and joined the Heritage Builders team in 2015. Leif’s position encompasses several aspects within the organization, most importantly custom home service, construction management and sales. His many years of construction supervision and custom luxury home experience make for an ideal blend of skills to assist our clients and provide an exceptional level of attention to detail to the Heritage Builders team. Leif became a Licensed Florida Real Estate Broker in 2016 and has been a Licensed Florida General Contractor since 2009.
Andrew Kelly Architect
Andrew is an accomplished principal architect, receiving his Masters of Architecture from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor’s Taubman School. The creative demands, challenge and rigor of the discipline led Andy to work across the country in locations such as Vail, Colorado, the San Francisco Bay Area, California and Naples, Florida. Upon arrival in Sarasota in 2019, it was simply the perfect fit. Andy is a highly skilled architect and Heritage Builders is pleased to exclusively offer his designs.

Originally from Miami, FL, Ingrid has spent the last fifteen years immersed in the world of interior design. Her journey has taken her through various roles, from working in furniture showrooms and visual merchandising to spending the past eight years collaborating with some of the most respected interior designers in the Sarasota area. This hands-on experience has shaped Ingrid into a versatile and passionate designer.
Jill Riolo
Client Concierge
Jill plays an invaluable role supporting our construction and finance teams while managing our model homes and Design Gallery. Jill serves as our Client Concierge, serving as a guide throughout the entire home design and construction process, and beyond. She schedules all design appointments, provides important documentation, answers questions and schedules warranty work.

Becky Bishop CFO
Becky has been an integral part of the Heritage Builders and U.S. Assets Group teams for nearly 15 years. She has a diverse skill set in financial management in real estate development and new home construction. Becky is intimately involved in all management aspects of land development, new home construction and homeowners association management.

Rick has an extensive background in custom and production home leadership. With 30 years of directing projects and leading construction initiatives, Rick enables our team to lead the way in custom luxury homebuilding. Our construction team meets with you at your new home build orientation, where we review your plans and discuss what to expect during the construction period.
